Basics and Common Sense of Email
Marketing
«¤»„«¤»§«¤»„«¤»§«¤»„«¤»§«¤»
Today, Email
marketing has emerged as a great tool to
keep your prospective and current customers updated about
your company's new offers and services. Simply put, it is
sending messages to your clients and is an effective way
of communicating with them.
Consider a salesperson and the verbal techniques he/she
adopts to persuade you to buy a product and the same applies
to email marketing. In email marketing you are not
face-to-face with your prospects. Your message is the only
way through which you present your company and products.
You must first understand the basic, common sense of email
marketing before attempting to start a campaign. Like in
social life, email also demands "etiquette" of presentation.
Your email should make an impact on the reader and leave him
asking for more. Some basic issues which look simple but can
turn off your customer are discussed below.
Keep it Short and Simple
KISS - is a well known acronym for Keep it Short and Simple.
Customers don't like long winding messages about the
products and services of a company. They like crisp, to the
point, well written messages. On the other hand, KISS does
not mean writing everything in just one paragraph. You
must avoid long sentences and paragraphs. Customers get
tired reading from one end of the sentence to the other.
You must help the reader relax while reading your message.
Ultimately, the reader should leave your message with a
positive, pleasing thought about you and your products.
Format it Well
Before using capital letters in your message think for a
while. An email message written all in capital letters
doesn't look very presentable. Use capital letters only in
important words or sentences because if you write the whole
message in capital letters it looks more like a bombardment
and nobody wants to read it.
Check your Grammar and Spellings
Imagine reading a sales copy that is full of spelling and
grammatical mistakes. Would you like to read such a message?
Therefore, keep the customer in your mind while writing
messages. If you want your customer to take you seriously
check for all possible grammar and spelling mistakes before
hitting that send button.
You can gain the trust of the customers through Correct
grammar and spelling. Mistakes in this area can easily
turnoff customers from your otherwise good quality products.
In Internet marketing presentation is critical. Your
marketing campaign is your ambassador for your company and
your products. A wrong presentation can mean huge loss
in sales. Therefore take care of the smallest detail to
avoid the disappointments.

HOT BIZ*TIP
_____________________
Easy Shut Down
Have you ever found yourself wishing that Windows
wouldn't ask you if you really want to shut down after you've
gone to all the trouble of hitting the Start button, then Shut Down?
XP Users:
1. Right click the Desktop and select New/Shortcut
2. A screen will appear asking you for a Command Line.
Here's what you put in that box:
For Shutdown: Shutdown -s -t 0
For Restart: Shutdown -r -t 0
For Log Off: Shutdown -l -t 0
After you've decided which of the above options to use, click
the Next button and give the shortcut an appropriate name. Now
that you have the nifty little shutdown shortcut on your
desktop, you may want to drag it to your taskbar for easier
access (and less chance of an accidental click).
