The Top 7 E-Books of 2004
by Joe Vitale
www.mrfire.com

«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»

What are the top 7 e-books on marketing
of this past year? Here's my pick, based on the
dozens I've seen over the last twelve months.

"Million Dollar Online Advertising Strategies - From
The Greatest Letter Writer Of The 20th Century."
Daniel Levis analyzed the record breaking sales
letters of the legendary Robert Collier to create this
insightful guide into human nature. Collier's letters
alone are worth gold; the psychological analysis of
each letter makes them priceless. A great education.
http://www.getresponse.com/t/304845/

"The Ultimate Guide to Creating Money-Making E-Books."
Bill Hibbler put together what may be the be-all and
end-all of how-to books revealing ways to create your
own e-book, and then sell it, even without writing it
yourself. This may be the definitive guide to e-books.
http://www.create-ultimate-ebooks.com/

"The Think and Grow Rich Workbook." Pat O'Bryan took
a hands-down classic -- Napoleon's Hill's famous "Think
and Grow Rich" -- gleaned the best ideas from it, and
turned it into an e-book. He wisely gives this one away,
which is a viral way to build his email list. Very smart.
http://www.milagroresearchinstitute.com/subthanks.htm

"How I Made $1,080,496 on the Internet in less than 24
Hours."
John Reese's true story is inspiring and
instructive. You can read an entire report detailing his
incredible success in a brief e-book he gives away.
http://www.mrfire.com/trafficspecial.zip

"378 Internet Marketing Predictions." This two-volume set
may be my favorite e-book for 2004. Mike Mograbi somehow
managed to dig under the carpet of the net, look beyond
the stars in cyberspace, and come back with some eye-opening
facts. http://snipurl.com/Predictions

"The Stampede Secret." Laura Childs is a pig farmer in
Canada with a love for the net. She spent countless hours
researching RSS, which I had only heard of but didn't
understand before her book arrived. Her e-book is
the best guide there is to by-passing sp*m  filters
and cementing a relationship with your customers.
http://www.stampedesecret.com

"Success Alert." Here's another one I wish I had thought
of. This inspiring first-in-a-series contains interviews
with average people making mega-bucks online selling
everyday things, from socks to magic tricks. Too many
books are by marketing people sharing their secrets.
This one is by, about, and for the common person.

What e-books will be the hits of 2005?

Ah, let's wait and see...

to list here, including the #1 best-selling book

"Hypnotic Writing," and the best-selling

of Outrageous Marketing." His main website is

How to Clear Out Your Recent Documents

=========================

NOTE: The following tip is a wee bit more advanced than just
"click here, click there". You will definitely want to print this
section and follow along on paper.

We're going to create what's called a "batch file" and this will
do something very cool... with a double click on an icon, you'll
be able to clear out the entries on the Recently Used Documents
flyout window.

This document list (you can see it by clicking Start, and putting
your mouse cursor over 'Documents') can be cleared using standard
Windows steps, but this method is faster, and gives you some
insight into files and the way your computer works. So let's stop
playing "click click click" with the Start menu, and make things
happen with a double click on a new icon.

1. Open Notepad (Start, Programs, Accessories, Notepad).
2. Type the following text:

echo y| del \windows\recent\*.*

Note: the symbol after the y is found in different places on your
keyboard, and may appear as two vertical lines, one atop the
other. But it shows up as a single vertical line when typed in.

3. Save the file you've created, giving it the name
"cleardocs.bat" and save it to your Desktop. A new icon will be
created automatically.

4. Right click the newly created icon (it'll look like a little
gear in a window) and select Properties from the context menu.

5. Select the Program tab by clicking it once.

6. Under Run, choose Minimized from the drop down selector.

7. Check the CLOSE ON EXIT option by clicking in the check box.

8. Click OK to close the window you're working with. Another icon
will be created. This one will be shortcut (you'll see the little
curved arrow in the lower left corner of the icon so you know
it's a shortcut) to the previous 'cleardocs.bat' file.

9. Double click the new shortcut icon. You won't see anything
happen, but if you check your Documents item on the Start Menu,
you'll see it's now empty! You will still see the My Documents
folder there, however, since this does nothing to that folder.

To make this even fancier, create the cleardocs.bat file in a
folder other than you desktop folder, and create the shortcut so
it alone appears on your desktop. You can even give it a new icon
if you want to but that's another tutorial:-)

Why would you want to clear out the recently used documents list?
I don't know. Maybe there's a bunch of stuff there you don't want
showing?

Have fun with this! You can use the principles in this tip and
apply them to other deletion tasks as well. For example, clearing
out all the backup files in a particular folder. Just change the
path so it goes to the folder where the backups are located, and
change "*.*" to "*.bak". (Never use quote marks, they're only
used here to set off the stuff you type from the rest of the
letters that make up words in the paragraphs you read... Here's
the example:

echo y| del \windows\recent\*.bak

Let your own creativity be your guide in using the information in
this tutorial, and you will find other applications.
