Is It Right? Is It
Wrong? Does It Matter?

In 1900,
fathers prayed their children would learn
English. Today, fathers pray their children will
speak English.
In 1900, if a father put a roof over his family's head,
he was a success. Today, it takes a roof, deck, pool,
and 4-car garage. And that's just the vacation home.
In 1900, a father waited for the doctor to tell him
when the baby arrived. Today, a father must wear
a smock, know how to breathe, and make sure
film is in the video camera.
In 1900, fathers passed on clothing to their sons.
Today, kids wouldn't touch Dad's clothes if they
were sliding naked down an icicle.
In 1900, fathers could count on children to join the
family business. Today, fathers pray their kids will
soon come home from college long enough to teach
them how to work the computer and set the VCR.
In 1900, fathers pined for old country Romania, Italy,
or Russia. Today, fathers pine for old country
Hank Williams.
In 1900, fathers shook their children gently and
whispered, "Wake up, it's time for school." Today, kids
shake their fathers violently at 4 a.m., shouting:
"Wake up, it's time for hockey practice."
In 1900, a father came home from work to find his
wife and children at the supper table. Today, a father
comes home to a note: "Jimmy's at baseball, Cindy's at
gymnastics, I'm at gym, Pizza in fridge."
In 1900, fathers and sons would have heart-to-heart
conversations while fishing in a stream. Today, fathers
pluck the headphones off their sons' ears and shout,
"WHEN YOU HAVE A MINUTE.."
In 1900, a father gave a pencil box for Christmas,
and the kid was all smiles. Today, a father spends $800
at Toys 'R' Us, and the kid screams: "I wanted Sega!"
Wow! Some changes in a century, huh?
I wonder are the changes right? Are they wrong? Or
does it matter?
In truth they are neither right nor wrong. They just are.
They reflect a steady, general, movement back
to our Maker, not religion, but a true spiritual
understanding.
Some of the things not mentioned in the article above
are the fact we are approaching a much better condition
of equality between races and sexes. I did not say we
are yet perfect, but large advances have been made.
The peoples in this earth that continue to live in tribal
conditions have a long way to go. Greed, unfortunately
will continue to get in the way for centuries, though the
free world will advance even further, faster. Conflict
between these two groups will remain, sponsored
mainly by the tribal fundamentalists, just as they
are today.
Some think these changes are the result of our
technological advances. Not so. It is a function of the
minorities, wherever they are found, pushing a little
harder at the edge of the envelope.
It is also the result of many working to spread awareness
of truth. The terrible, catastrophic condition of molestation
of youngsters in the churches, is, too, part of the growth
into truth. It is completely obvious those who were, or even
are, our spiritual leaders have a long way to go to find
truth themselves.
Much of the teaching we get is like the blind leading the
blind. As time passes we will all see things in a different
light and we shall awaken to new ways of living.
The changes we see at the end of the next century will
likely be even greater than those explained in the note
above. Just as we look at the changes now, they will then,
and likewise, come to realize it is growth, though, like now,
they know not toward what.
What this means is those of you who are in internet
marketing are at the very forefront of new ways of
distributing knowledge and merchandise. Those who
stick with it through thick and thin will emerge from the
other side winners in more ways than one.
They will be hugely successful, leaders, winners all,
who will take us into the next century. The work day and
the work load for all of us will change. Those on the edge
of the envelope today shall be the leaders and teachers
for tomorrow.
And all the while we get closer to living as our Maker
wants us to live.
So stand back. Take a look at things in a global
perspective. Come to realize how wonderfully important
a role you play, regardless of how insignificant you now
feel. Stick with your internet marketing even through the
tough spots. You will be much needed tomorrow, to
spread your knowledge, and guide the future.
And remember, change - - - -
