I have been following this Habeas situation very closely on the internet lately. If you haven't been keeping up, Habeas is a company that thinks they are fighting spam by charging people an arm and a leg to insert their email header into mailings so it will get past the spam filters. Now, while Habeas' intentions are good, to fight spam, it is ultimately going to cause many businesses to fall, quick, fast and hard. They are now charging businesses $499 per year for their header. But beware, because the terms and conditions are very strict in order to have this header.I read a news article about Habeas' first lawsuit. They are suing 3 businesses. One is a person who supposedly illegally used their header. But this is the clincher. They are suing the person using the header, along with ClickBank because they are the payment company for the defendant, and the person who wrote the ebook this guy is promoting. This puts another whole angle on what is going to happen if Habeas can do this. Businesses will not be able to do affiliate programs because if they do, they can be sued for something an affiliate is doing. Clickbank, who in my opinion, is an innocent by-stander, along with the writer of the ebook, will have to take further precautions with their programs which will leave many businesses without a central payment center, and without products to sell.I wonder who the next victims are? Could they be YOU? Hey, I never said how the results were stunning. You probably have heard the "guaranteed sign-ups" buzz. trying to make a quick buck and have no interest in your company.2. You're working with a company with over 4 years of experience in the scam business. There isn't any better way to raise the reputation of your business than advertising on a site that scams people. Earlier when I said the people are just trying to make a quick buck, I meant "trying". No one ever gets paid because for a
mysterious reason the account gets wiped out whenever it gets near the minimum pay-out mark.3. "Big Wallets Only" sign is chiseled in a stone on the pricing page. They have a whopping $125.00 minimum to buy guaranteed sign-ups. Of course they realize they can't rip out the people who want to buy a smaller amount of sign-ups. So you can buy at affiliate sites that sells small amounts for an outrageous price.4. This is really a "high-maintenance" child. You would think that after you pluck out your credit card that it would be easy going! Did I mention you have to make up a control question and answer to determine if the user really signed up? The use is supposed to find out the answer after signing up. Kind of like a scavenger hunt. (Talk about high-tech technology working here,
eh?) But look out! Because the sign-ups constantly stop every once in a while. So you have to e-mail the customer support to give you the rest of the sign-ups.5. Delivers half the Number. Remember the control
question-and-answer you made? Well, if you're an affiliate, look out because they can just type in the answer if they already signed up for the program. If you have a 1 word control answer like widget which would show up as w....t (6 letters). Then you're just begging for someone to guess the word using a word tool (think crossword helper feature).-----------------------------------------------------------------
