You've seen the ads: "Make $10,000 a week - GUARANTEED!! The
internet is overflowing with them. Sounds appealing, doesn't
it? Of course it does! But is it possible?
 
It is not realistic to say that it is impossible. There are no
doubt a few folks who are getting rich overnight. But it is
most definitely not PROBABLE! You mean these ads are lying????
People lie on the internet??? DUH!!!
 
What IS the truth about building an ebusiness? Well, the truth
is.....YOU can do it! Anyone can - if you are willing to
W...O...R...K! That's ALL there is to it! Sound simple?
Yeah, right, you say. But we ARE telling you the truth.
Creating your own internet income is very possible. IF you
are willing to give it what it takes.
 
So, what DOES it take? Here are a few basic necessities that
every Ebusiness requires, in order to create the foundation
for success:
 
*A Product - You must have something of value to sell. You can
come up with your own product, or sell someone else's product.
Creating your own product and getting others to sell it is the
ultimate!
 
*A Website - You need a site so that you can show your product
to the world! And guess what - that's who your audience is!
The world!!! That's the beauty of the internet. Your website
is YOU to the world. Quality is a necessity, if you want
credibility. There are MANY resources available for creating a
site.  Do your homework - don't settle for quick and cheap.
 
*A Domain Name - You NEED your own domain name. Yes, it will
be an expense. And possibly an investment you'll have to make
before you start bringing in any income to speak of. But it
will also be a REASON that you will start earning income.
Owning your own domain is a necessity if you want to be taken
seriously. There are numerous places to purchase domain names.
Stick with a well established company that you know will be
around forever, or you could have problems with transfers or
sales later.
 
*A Dependable Web Host - Your web host is the company that
puts your site on the internet. Yes, there are an endless
number of free hosting services. And these are great for a
site you are doing for fun, one of your kids' personal sites,
etc. But, putting your Ebusiness on a free hosting service is
a bit risky, and once again, reduces your credibility.
Prices vary, and so does the level of service.
 
These are four of the MOST basic components of a successful
Ebusiness. The following two are also critical, but might be
considered your marketing necessities.
 
*An Ezine - No site should be without an Ezine (Electronic
Magazine) or newsletter. This is your connection to that
"world" we were talking about! It KEEPS you connected, and
builds the relationships that are critical to success.
 
An Ebook (or 2!) - Ebooks are quickly becoming THE hottest
product on the Internet. Whether you create one to sell as
a product, or to give away as a marketing tool, ebooks are
fast becoming a necessity, if you are going to keep your
business on the cutting edge!
 
OK - now we've told you what the basics are. Now for
the fun part:  Learning where and how to get them, and how
to use them! (Here comes the WORK!)
 
You can spend all your valuable time chasing after the perfect
"get-rich-this-week" program.  Or you can take your time and
apply it to educating yourself on creating a legitimate
Ebusiness. (I would recommend the latter!) Once again, that's

VIRUS HOAXES!
 
 
There are many viruses in existence,
however there are also the virus hoaxes.
 
How can you tell the difference?
 
Let's start with what a virus actually is.
 
"A virus is a program that copies itself."
 
Email hoaxes work by the same methodology as an
email virus, although they require "more user
interaction to spread."
 
A "traditional" virus is a program or executable
script that only requires execution and a transfer
medium. Execution can be as simple as inserting a
diskette into an infected system, running an infected
program, or viewing an infected document containing
a malicious script. The transfer medium can be anything
that computer information, or data is stored upon or
used to transfer from one place to another, such as a
diskette or a network.
 
"An email hoax is spread in the same way as an "urban legend.""
 
They "spread" by the diligent work of unsuspecting folks
who are unwilling or unable to do very simple fact finding.
 
"A virus hoax is a type of email hoax."
 
Most people are far more willing to forward a juicy warning
message to their entire list of recipients than verify if an
inflammatory report is true. Additionally, hyped media
reports have caused by most estimates near hysteria
among the masses, due to over-exaggerated descriptions of the
destructiveness and spreading power of viruses.
 
Some users have a knee-jerk reaction to any malfunction
of their computer, and automatically assume it's a virus.
 
A common indicator of a hoax is denying the validity of
a good resource that under normal circumstances would
prove or disprove the existence of a virus. An example
would be a statement in that a renowned Anti-virus
software company refuses to acknowledge, or their software
will not detect the "virus", even if it's up-to-date.
 
Another common method for a hoax writer to encourage
propagation of a falsehood is to encourage lack of
research on the part of the recipient by using some
emotion, in the case of virus hoaxes, it is usually fear.
Through name recognition (Avert, McAffee, Norton, etc.)
in order to give credibility to a hoax is common.
 
In certain email hoaxes, the writers even specify that the
information is somehow privileged, such as a secret contest,
or loosely based upon a conspiracy.
 
The very best indicator of a hoax is the line:
 
"send this to everyone you know"
 
To be absolute in verifying the validity of a warning
message copy some of the message content, and paste it
into a search engine. Enclose the selection in quotes,
and do a search. Odds are if it's a hoax that's been
around for a while, you'll get a lot of pages stating
it's a hoax.
 
Interestingly enough, most viruses have an average
circulation rate of about 3 months.
 
The average age of a hoax is 1.5 years.
 
In conclusion, "everyone must be vigilant" is protecting
their property from damage, whether it be a computer
virus, in which case up-to-date anti-virus software is
the best protection, or misinformation, which is just
as damaging. Taking the time to verify and not being
reactionary to everything read on the monitor will put
hoaxes on the back burner.
 
Maybe then I can get more sleep. ;)

We hope you have enjoyed this issue of the
Online Exchange E-zine.
We would like to welcome all of our New Subscribers.
 
Summer is almost here.  It's really heating up out there
for most of us.  Stay cool.  Make sure you do not
dehydrate yourself, and most of all, HAVE FUN!
 
Last night I had my sons Pre-School graduation.  Now,
down here in South Florida, we make a real big deal out of this.
My son not only graduated, he worked hard all month practicing
a big choreographed show called, "Men In Black".
They were able to put the show on in a big high school on stage.
So, this was a BIG DEAL for them.  I knew from the
beginning that it would be adorable.  All these kids trying to
dance to a routine.  They would all be stepping over each other
trying to remember what to do.  Heck, they are only 5 years old.
 
To my complete amazement, my son knew every step.  He danced
up a storm.  He worked at this everyday at school for a month.
He would not give me a hint as to what they were going to do.
During a christmas show last December, my son just stood there
frozen.  He did not even sing the songs,
but he is a little on the shy side, and there were a lot of people there,
so he was under pressure and not sure how to handle it.  Now,
at this show, there were triple the amount of people and they
were on a big stage.
 
My eyes were filled with tears of joy for him last night.  He was
nothing short of perfect.  All the kids were.
 
The reason I am telling you this is simple.  If you work hard
enough, if you put the time and the effort into something, there
is no reason for you NOT to succeed.  If a group of 5 year old kids
can do it, why not YOU?  They worked hard, had fun, and enjoyed doing it.
Now, he may not have been able to do this back in December, but
because he did not let a little stage fright scare him, he kept at it,
and perfected a great show.
 
I have never been so proud. And it goes to show that if you
have the strive and the determination anything is possible.
