3.) BIZ-NOTE FROM THE EDITOR

Hello Faithful Subscribers,
I hope you are enjoying each edition of
The OnLine Exchange Ezine.
I would like to welcome all our new subscribers. Please
don't forget to participate in our Weekly Biz Talk Contest!
You see more and more businesses offering these huge discounted
ezines classified ads in numerous ezines, in exchange for
subscribing to the ezines. This is a great way to test your
ad copy, however, I do need to remind you that these programs
are NOT made for EFFECTIVE advertising. Though your ad
does get exposure, it does not get QUALITY exposure. You will
not get top placement, and many times your ad is bundled up with
tons of other ads. These ezines are not making a profit from
your ad, they are only getting a subscriber, and hoping that these
subscribers will READ the ezine.
I wrote about this a few months ago, and I feel I do need to
elaborate alittle on it. Ezine advertising is the MOST effective
advertising on the internet. There is no question about it,
and these programs, though they have many pros about it, do
also have ONE CON you need to consider. Because you are buying
ad space in exchange for subscribing to ezines, and then your
ad pulls in a very poor response, NEVER think that Ezine advertising
is not all it is cracked up to be.
These programs give you something other than quality exposure.
It gives you the chance to subscribe to various ezines to see which
ones you feel are more for you. It gives you the chance to test
your ad copy, and it also gives you the opportunity to get a feel
of the different kinds of ezines on the net.
Once you get your ads in and start receiving ezines, please take
time to read them, decide which ones you like the best, and then
unsubscribe from the rest. I don't think any ezine publisher
wants readers who DO NOT read their ezine.
Then you need to start investing in real quality ezine advertising,
which is buying top ad space with your favorite ezines. You will
be amazed with the response differential from the bulk ezine ad
programs.
I think these programs are great. In fact, MarketingTrendz is
thinking of starting one too. However, we do not want to take
away from real quality ezine advertising either.
I just hope for those of you who do or have used these programs,
to keep in mind the difference between quantity ezine advertising
and quality ezine advertising. And POSITION does COUNT.

Although, the "Experts" would have you believe that
"Anyone can
do this",
It Just Ain't So!
Think about it folks, anyone can hold a hammer, but not
everyone can be a carpenter.
You can go to school and learn the fundamentals, but if you
can't handle the sight of blood, you'll never be a brain surgeon!
Internet marketing is no different than any other chosen
profession. Make no mistake,
IT IS A JOB!
When I first started out in this very demanding field, my wife
couldn't understand that I was working, not playing. Because I
was home all day, while she slaved away at her job, she expected
me to clean the house and do the laundry, ya da, ya da, ya da.
Somehow, because I was doing it from the desk in my home
instead of a desk in an office, it wasn't really work.
It didn't seem to matter that I was sitting at that desk when
she left in the morning and was usually still sitting at that
desk when she went to bed at night. I enjoy reading and writing,
so it wasn't a real job!
It's a shame that so many of us spend the majority of our lives
doing something that we don't enjoy, in the name of 'Paying the
Bills' and 'Supporting Our Families', but the fact is, that most
of us do.
I love my family, more than anything in the world, but if I'm
not happy, how can they be happy with me?
This form of self-depravation has always seemed so senseless to
me.
We can all find something, to make a living, that we can enjoy.
I'd rather eat Macki-Cheese and hamburger, seven nights a week,
and be happy, than to spend eight to ten hours a day, wishing I
could be somewhere else, so that my family can eat Lobster and
steak. And you know what, they feel the same way!
My point is, Internet marketing is a job like any other. If you
don't enjoy it, DON'T DO IT!
It requires a dedication and patience that not all of us have.
It requires a constant vigilance towards reading and learning,
as it changes faster and more often than an eighth grade girl,
getting ready for her first date.
You need to love to read and write. Reading breeds writers and
writing is the key!
But, regardless of what you read, from all of the 'Gurus" who
are trying to sell you their wares, you must have a knack for
writing in order to write and you must enjoy it.
Fortunately, many who thought that they couldn't possibly write
anything intelligent, have discovered, much to their chagrin,
that they actually have talent! The old sayings still hold true,
"Can't Never Could" and "You never will, If you don't
try, "
